About our training services

Does your pup need some work on basic manners or obedience? Elizabeth is a great, lower-cost option to work on these skills! As a veterinary technician, Elizabeth never expected dog training as a career but found herself working for a behaviorist and loved helping clients train their pets! Right now, Elizabeth is providing training on basic skills and manners, as those are skills she is most comfortable teaching. If you need help with anything out of her scope of practice, Elizabeth will refer you to another excellent trainer!

Our training is force-free and fear free, meaning we do NOT use any form of punishment, pain, fear, or intimidation when training your dog. This includes the use of prong collars, shock collars, physical corrections, or scolding.

Interested in talking training? Let's schedule a consultation and make a training plan. We can establish goals and see how frequent training sessions would be beneficial for your dog. We can even combine training with in-home pet sitting if you have an trip coming up!

Certified trainer!

Elizabeth is a Certified Professional Dog Training exam (CPDT-KA) and is looking forward to working with you and your pet on some basic skills to succeed.

Training methods

Elizabeth uses science based, positive reinforcement techniques for training. This means that she uses rewards (treats, praise, toys, anything your dog finds rewarding) to reinforce desired behaviors.

Consultation

You live with your dog, so you likely know what things you would like to work on with your pup! I will spend an hour with you discussing these goals and how we can achieve them. We will use this time to make a plan, including what type of training services and frequency would be most beneficial. If there is time left, we can get to work!

This $75 consultation will be required before beginning any type of training services.

Private Lessons

Private lessons are great for people who prefer lessons in the privacy of their home and want to participate in their dogs training. This is also a great option for dogs that simply don't do well around other dogs! Private lessons at your home give the ability to see your dog in his/her usual environment. I will explain everything as we go, and can answer questions in real time.

$75/hour

Day Training

Are you busy or work out of the home, but still want someone to work with your dog? This is a great option for those that do not have time to actively participate in every training session. Similarly to private lessons, I would come to your home and work with your dog, and I would take videos to show you what we are working on and how you can continue it as homework. We would also meet every few sessions for me to show you in person.
