Please reach out if you cannot find an answer to your question. We would love to hear from you!
In-home pet sitting is when a professional pet sitter comes to your home for scheduled visits, and cares for your pet(s) in their own environment. The visits are customized to meet the specific needs and routines of your pet(s). For overnight care, we prefer to "live in" your home, as your pets can be given all the attention possible! Your home is also cared for with an in-home sitter. We will bring in the mail, newspaper, packages; adjust the TV or radio, alternate lights and blinds, and even water your plants. We give your home a “lived in feel” to deter burglars.
Unfortunately we are not able to care for your pets in our home. We are quite full already with our own pets, and not all of our pets are accepting of other dogs in their environment. We also feel that it causes some stress on your pet to adjust to a new environment, which is obviously undesirable.
Boarding pets can be risky and uncomfortable to your pet. Boarding facilities are not able to provide the same schedule that your pet is used to, and it is a different environment than the comfort of your home. While there are some excellent boarding facilities in middle Tennessee, most are often overcrowded, loud, and are staffed by inexperienced employees unaware of body language and pet behavior. Some pets, however, do excellent in boarding facilities and we think that's great! You know what's best for your pet and we encourage you to put them in environments where they will succeed!
We are certain you can find someone cheaper to care for your pet(s). However, we believe we provide the best, and most professional, pet care services in the area. Our pets are our children and we would want the absolute best caring for them - if you want the same, then we are on the same page! Besides actually watching your pet, our favorite part of the job is meeting you ahead of time to discuss our services, answer any questions you have, and share our passion with you so that you can leave and not worry about your pet!
Most people that charge less are often doing this as a side job. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this, and Elizabeth has done this for years at those prices! Unfortunately, you just don't get some of the same dedication and commitment that we can provide.
We go above and beyond to make sure that everyone is comfortable in this relationship.
-We provide and require free meet & greets with you and your pet(s) prior to your departure
-Elizabeth is an experienced Licensed Veterinary Technician, and Amanda is First Aid/CPR certified. We can identify and care for any illness or injury that may come up while you are gone, or can spot the signs of when a pet needs to see a vet. You will be updated with any medical concerns we note, even if it's just a little runny nose.
-Both Elizabeth and Amanda are Fear Free Certified Professionals, which means that we are trained in methods to make your pets comfortable and avoid any fear, anxiety, and stress. Elizabeth has additional experience with animals that have behavior problems and works hard to put them at ease during situations that can be challenging for them.
-For your protection, we are insured and bonded. This is huge, in the event that something goes wrong.
-We are a registered business with the state, again, for your protection.
Likely, no! We would need to discuss the behavior concerns with you, and your pets behavior history to make sure that it is safe for us to be in your home with your pet. However, Elizabeth has worked extensively with behaviorally-challenged animals and feels comfortable providing care to them. All we ask is that you please be honest with us so that we can set everyone up for success!
